Criticizing the BJP as well as the Congress governments for the plight of farmers in India, the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) General Secretary, Hannan Mollah announced that a rally would be organized in Delhi from 28 to 30 November urging the government to solve their pending demands.
Stressing that farmers' problems continue to be at the center of the Left parties' political activities, Mollah said that successive governments' failure in bringing land reforms has caused the agricultural crisis. He accused the present BJP government of not fulfilling their 2014 electoral promises to the farmers and termed its announcement of hike in minimum support prices (MSPs) of 22 mandated crops and fair and remunerative price (FRP) of sugarcane ‘a hoax’.

Claiming that even as agricultural inputs costs have increased several folds, farmers are not getting due price of their products, Mollah said, "The BJP is now looking to hoodwink farmers by planning an aggressive drive for the upcoming general elections in 2019."
Regarding the 'Kisan March', he said, "Farmers will come on tractors and on 29 November, they will gather at the Ramlila ground. We are trying to organise the rally at Boat Club. But if we do not get the permission to hold the rally there, it would be held at the Ramlila ground."
