The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation lies over west Afghanistan & neighbourhood. Under its influence, scattered to fairly widespread rain/snow with isolated thunderstorms/hailstorms likely to lash over Western Himalayan region (Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) and isolated rain/thundershowers likely over Punjab, Haryana and northwest Uttar Pradesh on 14th & 15th April, says Indian Meteorological Department reports in its morning bulletin.
On the other hand, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall/thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, hail & gusty/squally winds very likely over parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and northeast India till 16th April.
Heat Wave conditions to prevail over Gujarat
Heat Wave conditions have been developing at isolated places of Saurashtra & Kutch. Same conditions are likely to continue and further intensify over these areas during the next 2-3 days. Maximum temperatures of 41-43°C at isolated places over Gujarat region and conditions are favourable for further rise in temperature by 2-3°C and Heat Wave conditions likely to prevail during next 2-3 days. The meteorological analysis shows Heat Wave conditions likely to develop over southwest Madhya Pradesh and northwest Vidarbha on 14th & 15th April
As per yesterday’s report, rain/thundershowers observed (from 0830 to 1730 hours IST of yesterday): at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and North Interior Karnataka.
Maximum temperatures were Markedly above normal (5.0°C or more) at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir and north Saurashtra & Kutch while maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Saurashtra & Kutch; at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, West Rajasthan.
