Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cold to severe cold day conditions in isolated pockets across Uttar Pradesh on Monday and Tuesday. According to the meteorological department, dense to extremely dense fog conditions are predicted to prevail during the night and morning hours in certain areas of Uttar Pradesh over the next three days and across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi during the next two days.
"Cold day to severe cold day conditions are very likely in isolated pockets across Uttar Pradesh during the next two days," the IMD tweeted on Sunday.
Furthermore, dense to very dense fog conditions is expected across sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, and Tripura on February 7 and February 8 and over Odisha on February 8 and February 9.
Weather in North India
On February 9, the IMD predicted rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning across Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, and isolated rain over East Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan.
"On February 9, fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning likely across Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, and isolated rainfall over East Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan," the IMD tweeted.
On February 9 and 10, isolated to scattered rainfall is also expected over West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, and north Odisha.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a steady rise in minimum temperatures of 3-5 degrees Celsius is quite anticipated throughout most parts of northwest India during the next three days.
The minimum temperatures in most parts of Central India will not vary significantly today, but will gradually rise by 3-5 degrees Celsius over the next four days.
Minimum temperatures in most areas of East India are expected to fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius today, with no substantial change expected over the next two days and a gradual rise of 2-4 degrees Celsius thereafter.
Over the next 24 hours, the MeT department predicts cold day to severe cold day weather in areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh.
