Minister of Agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar requested ICAR to make the agri sector more joboriented with the assistance of New Education Policy (NEP).
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), established in 1929, is a zenith body for organisation, direction and management education and research in the horticulture area of the country. It offers agriculture courses via its organization of 101 ICAR foundations and 71 universities.
ICAR has shaped a six-member council to propose approaches to align agri related education with the vision of NEP revealed by the Government. At the 92nd ICAR Annual General Conference, Tomar stressed the unparalleled commitment of the Council and the agricultural universities.
"The Union Minister encouraged to make the agrarian sector to be greater business arranged with the assistance of the New Education Policy," said an authority articulation.
Commending the endeavors of agri-researchers, the minister said in any event, during the difficult occasions of COVID-19 pandemic, the council kept up its importance by accomplishing impressive development in the creation of different vital food crops.
The advancement of different new assortments of crops by the ICAR is benefiting the nation in several aspects, he said. Also present at the meeting were Food Minister Piyush Goyal, Agriculture Minister Parshottam Rupala and Kailash Choudhary.
