The Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) on Thursday announced the commission of the largest wind-solar power facility in the world, with a 600 MW capacity, in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

According to a company release, the plant has a power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 25 years at a rate of Rs 2.69/kwh.

According to the statement, the project will include 150 MW of wind power and 600 MW of solar power, and it will also enable the nation to make the best use of its transmission network.

The first hybrid power plant in India, with a 390 MW capacity, was operationalized by AGEL in May 2022 in Jaisalmer.

The 600 MW plant's commissioning implies that AGEL now has a total operational generation capacity of 6.7 GW, the largest operational hybrid power generation capacity in the world.

This puts AGEL's 20.4 GW overall renewable portfolio on track to realize its 45 GW capacity goal by 2030.

Two AGEL subsidiaries, Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer Two Ltd (AHEJ2L) and Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer Three Ltd., are where the 600 MW hybrid plant is located (AHEJ3L).
