Here is a step-by-step guide on how to use your Aadhaar card to check the balance of your account:

Dial *99*99*1# from your registered cellphone number.

Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number, then type it in again to make sure it is correct. You'll see a flash notification on your screen showing the bank balance. The flash SMS will have been sent by UIDAI directly.

It will soon be possible to update other details, link your phone number to your Aadhaar, and other doorstep services thanks to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). You won't need to visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra to use these services as a result.
