7th Pay Commission Latest News: Here is some exciting news for central government employees. The government is expected to announce an increase in the fitment factor in the near future. Several media reports have confirmed this news. The government is focusing on increasing the fitment factor to raise the minimum basic income from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000 per month.
The central government employees have been demanding since a long time to raise the fitment factor. As a result, the minimum salary has been raised from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000 per month. This will soon be available to all central employees. According to sources, the government and the employees' association have decided an agreement on this matter.
Now all that's left is for it to be announced. The cabinet secretary and the employee’s union have previously met. The association was assured at this meeting that the government is paying attention to the fitment factor.
Decision To Be Announced This Month
Central government employees are hoping for a decision before the end of the month.
The model code of conduct is believed to be in place because of the upcoming elections, which is causing the delay. Employees are expected to receive this huge gift before Holi, according to reports.
Basic-Pay Will Be Rs 26,000
The basic pay of central government employees will increase to Rs 26,000 as a result of this bonus. According to finance expert Ajay Kumar Srivastava, if the central government raises the fitment factor, central officials' salaries will inevitably rise. The fitment factor was last raised in 2016, when employees' minimum basic wage was raised from Rs 6,000 to Rs 18,000. A projected increase in the fitment factor could result in a Rs 26,000 minimum basic wage.
Allowances to Hike
Employees' dearness allowance will also rise at the same time. The Dearness Allowance is equivalent to 31% of Basic Pay. By multiplying the dearness allowance rate by the basic salary, the dearness allowance is computed. That is, as the basic income rises, the dearness allowance will rise as well. There is a positive feeling among the workforce about this.
