7th Pay Commission: More than 50 Lakh Central Government Employees & 65 Lakh Retirees are waiting to receive their DA arrears of the last 18 months years eagerly. According to reports, the Modi Government may transfer Rs 2 Lakh in the accounts of the government employees in one go! And if everything goes well, they might get these arrears on or before Holi 2022.
The Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief of Central government employees and pensioners were restored to 31% from 17% from October 2021, however, the arrears have not been transferred as yet.
Central Government Employees await 3 Big Announcements
A meeting of the Union Cabinet is going to be held today on March 16. In this meeting, the central government can announce an increase in the DA of central govt employees, as well as a decision regarding pending DA arrears, may be taken. Along with this, a big announcement can also be made on the minimum salary and fitment factor.
If the government takes a decision on the disbursement of pending DA in the meeting, then an amount of up to Rs 2 lakh can be credited in the account of the employees simultaneously.
Shiv Gopal Mishra, Secretary (staff side) of the National Council of Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM), says that the central government make a one-time settlement for the pending DA arrears.
With this, central employees can get between Rs 1.4 Lakh to Rs 2.1 Lakh as DA arrears. The amount of arrears will be different for different grades of employees. The DA arrears of Level-1 employees will be between Rs 11880 to Rs 37000. The DA arrears of Level-13 employees will be between Rs 144200 to Rs 218200.
DA Hike by 3 % on Holi?
With this, the dearness allowance (DA) of employees may be increased by 3 percent. The Modi government can announce to increase the DA to 34% of the basic salary. If this happens, the salary of government employees and pensioners will also be increased.
Dearness allowance is paid on the basic salary. A hike of 3 percent can increase the salary of government employees up to a maximum of Rs 20,000 and a minimum of Rs 6480.
