As the festive season starts in India, Government came up with a good news for retired government employees of the country. The central government or the government of India is expected to gift Dual or double family pension gift to the families of armed forces personnel on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Under this festival gift, the family of armed personnel will be getting a dual pension. To understand it better, the families of retiring soldiers of India will get 2 pensions - family pension plus special family pension for military service. The Centre has implemented this pension scheme from 24th September, 2012.
The former president of AG Office Brotherhood, Prayagraj, Harishankar Tiwari said that the government has fixed a minimum family pension of Rs 9,000 / month. If we include 12 percent Dearness Allowance (DA) with it then every pensioner will get a benefit of at least Rs 10,000 / month.
The office of Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension), Prayagraj has issued the order for this. 'Zee Business Online' has a copy of this order with it. As per the order, even though a soldier or officer has joined a government department or Public Sector Undertaking after retiring from the military, his family will have the right to get this dual pension scheme.
The central government of India has issued an order to provide dual pension to the families of ex soldiers on 8th July 2019. After which, the Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension), Delhi Office wrote a letter to PCDA (Pension), Prayagraj in this regard. Answering to the letter, the PCDA (Pension) of Prayagraj stated that the family of soldiers who is entitled to get pension will also get the benefit under dual pension.
