The government of India provides many facilities to its employees. It includes facilities like Dearness allowance (DA), DR, House rent allowance (HRA), etc. Not only this, the government gives incentives in form of cash to the employees for study purposes.
Incentives given for higher studies
If an employee wants to get a higher degree while doing the job, then he is given a benefit of up to Rs. 30000. The amount has been increased keeping in mind the need of the employees.
If an employee wants to pursue a PhD degree, he will get Rs 30,000 instead of Rs 10,000. At the beginning, the amount was Rs. 2000 which was increased to Rs. 10000 a few years back. The best thing is that the amount is given in lump sum to the employees on the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission.
Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions implemented this rule in 2019 by amending the 20-year-old rule. According to the ministry, under these rules, employees who have completed a diploma or three-year degree are given Rs. 10000 as an incentive.
On the other hand, if an employee attains a degree above this, then he is given Rs. 15000.
Central Govt Employees: Who will get Rs. 20000, Rs. 25000 & Rs. 30000?
Rs. 20,000 will be given for obtaining a postgraduate degree or diploma of 1 year or less. At the same time, employees who complete a postgraduate degree or diploma of more than 1 year will get Rs 25,000.
Rs. 30,000 is given to those who have acquired a PhD or its equivalent qualification.
