Central government employees are now anxiously awaiting good news about their much-needed DA hike. The central government is reportedly planning to decide soon whether to increase the fitment factor of its employees.
According to sources, a decision on the fitting factor increase would probably be taken by the end of 2022. Employees of the central government have long demanded an increase in the fitment factor, which would be raised in accordance with the 7th Pay Commission's recommendations. The fitting factor should be increased from 2.57 to 3.68, according to central government employees.
It should be noted that the Basic Salary (Basic Pay), which is paid to all central government employees under the 7th CPC, has been modified as part of the fitment factor. Since the center increased the DA by 4% in September 2022, the demand for an increase in the fitting factor has also been gaining attraction.
Employees in the central government currently get a fitment factor of 2.57 times. The salary of government employees will increase as well if the Centre approves the fitment factor hike.
Employees of the government want the fitting factor to be increased by the center to 3.68 times. The remuneration of federal government employees is Rs 18,000 X 2.57 = Rs 46,260 at the current fitment factor rate. Government employees' salaries would be calculated as follows if the fitment factor increases were increased to 3.68 times: 26,000 X 3.68 = 95,680.
Similarly, if the government agrees to a three-fold fitment factor boost, an employee's salary will be Rs 21,000 X 3 = Rs 63,000. Additionally, there are calls for central government employees to have a higher housing allowance and DA hike.
