After an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) & Dearness Relief (DR) for crores of central employees and retirees, there is another good news for them. Employees who were previously unable to claim the Children Education Allowance (CEA) owing to the Corona pandemic can now do so.
It must be noted that you will not require any formal documents for this.

Claim For CEA
According to the 7th Pay Commission's recommendations, central employees are also entitled to a monthly payment of Rs 2,250 for their children's education. However, due to the corona pandemic, schools have been closed since last year. As a result, central personnel was unable to claim CEA.
Self Declaration Required
The Office of Personnel and Training (DoPT) released an Office of Memorandum in July (OM), it was written that the central personnel has had difficulty obtaining Children Education Allowance as a result of Corona. Because, despite paying the Fees online, the school did not send the result/report cards by SMS/email.
CEA claims can also be made via self-declaration or a printout of the result/report card/sms/e-mail of fee payment. This facility, however, will only be available during the academic years ending in March 2020 and March 2021.
How Much Allowance Will You Get?
For the education of two children, central personnel is entitled to a Children Education Allowance of Rs 2250 per month per child. Central Government Employees are paid Rs 4500 per month for two children. If the second kid is a twin, however, this stipend is paid for both the first & second child's education.
A child must be paid Rs 4500 according to two academic calendars. It is possible to claim for March 2020 and March 2021 if an employee has not yet done so. In this case, his income will be increased by Rs 4500.
Documents Require To Claim CEA
Central employees must submit a school certificate as well as claim documentation in order to receive Children Education Allowance (CEA). The child studies in their institution, according to the declaration received from the school.
In addition, the academic calendar during which you studied is mentioned. The child's report card, self-attested copy, and fee receipt must also be submitted to the CEA claim.
