The central government will most likely announce this after Holi 2023, after receiving the revised fitment factor in March 2023. After March 8, the Central government intends to change the DA and fitment factor.

An employee earning Rs 15,500 in 4200 Grade Pay would receive a total pay of Rs 39, 835 if they multiplied their salary by the current common fitment factor of 2.57%, according to the 6th Central Pay Commission.

While the 7th CPC suggested 2.57%, which is the fitment ratio at which the workers are already paid, the 6th CPC had recommended 1.86%. The fitment factor should be increased to 3.68, as demanded by the central government workers. If the demand is granted, the current minimum pay of Rs 18,000 will be raised to Rs 26,000 per month.

Also, the government is expected to raise the DA from its present level of 38% to 42% in March. The increase in pay and DA would take effect in January 2023.

In addition to these actions, the government is anticipated to raise the DA and DR for retirees and provide DA arrears of 18 months to central government workers.

18 Months DA Arrears Update:

Nonetheless, the employees' side has been pushing for the payment of the arrears for the 18-month span from January 2020 to June 2021. The wage range for Level 3 government employees might be between Rs 11,884 and Rs 37,554, whilst the range for Level 13/14 employees could be between Rs 1,44,200 and Rs 2,15,900. Negotiations between parties on the front may result in changes to the presented data in the future.

The fitment factor may rise in March for central government employees. The Workers Union's leadership claim that the DA hike of 4% has already been declared. This amount is anticipated in light of the most current All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) figures.
