Below are the details about the 3 different bonuses, which central government employees could receive this Diwali 2021.

Dearness Allowance (DA) Arrears

  • The Central Government is yet to pay increased dearness allowance (DA) for the month of July & August 2021.

  • The Finance Ministry has previously announced that the Central government will receive the salaries along with increased DA starting from July 2021.

  • However, the employees received an increased salary from the month of September 2021, which means that they can now expect the DA arrears.

Provident Fund (PF) Interest

  • More than 6 crore account holders of the Employees Provident Fund Organizations (EPFO) can also receive the good news before Diwali 2021.

  • The EPFO subscribers can receive the interest money on their investments direct in their respective bank accounts linked with the social scrutiny organizations.

Dearness Allowance (DA) Hike

  • As of now, the central government has not announced the hike on dearness allowance.

  • However, the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) data for the month of January to May 2021 indicates that the DA for Central Government employees could increase by 3%.

  • Then the government could increase the DA around or before Diwali 2021.
