7th Pay Commission: Central Government Employees To Get Another Hike This Diwali Season

Employees who could not claim Children Education Allowance (CEA) due to the Corona Pandemic, they can now claim it, without submitting any kind of official document.

After giving the increased Dearness Allowance (DA) & Dearness Relief (DR) to the central government employees & pensioners, now there is great news. Employees who could not claim Children Education Allowance (CEA) due to the Corona Pandemic, they can now claim it, without submitting any kind of official document.

Let’s Know the Overall Process:

The central employees get the allowance for the education of their children, which is Rs 2,250 each month and as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. But, since last year due to the Corona pandemic, the schools were closed, due to which, the employees could not claim the Children Education Allowance (CEA).

In the month of July, the Department of Personnel & Training issued an Office of Memorandum. In which it was said that due to the Corona pandemic, the central personnel has faced in claiming the Children Education Allowance. Even after depositing fees via the online method, the result/report cards were not sent from school through SMS/e-mail. The Department of Personnel & Training said that the CE claims can also be claimed through the self-declaration or SMS/e-mail printout of the result/report card/ fee payment. However, this facility will be available only for the academic year ending in March 2020 & March 2021.

How Much Allowance Will You Get?

The central employees get the Children Education Allowance for the education of 2 children, this allowance per child is Rs 2250 per month. This means the employees can get Rs 4500 per month for 2 children’s.

However, if the second child is a twin, then this allowance is given for the education of twins accompanied by the first child. According to 2 academic calendars, a child has to be paid Rs 4500 If an employee has not yet claimed for March 2020 & March 2021, then it can be claimed. In such a situation, Rs 4500 will be added to his salary.

Documents Required To Claim CEA

To claim the Children Education Allowance, the central employees have to submit the school certificate & claim the documents in the declaration, which is received from school. it is clearly written that children studies in their institution. Accompanied with this, the academic calendar in which you have studied is mentioned there. For the Children Education Allowance claim, the child’s report card, self-attested copy & fee receipt are required to be attached carefully.

Self Declaration To Be Given
