Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Thursday that the government was preparing to roll out 6G by the end of this decade, weeks before the launch of 5G services in the nation. Using video conferencing, the Prime Minister made the declaration during his speech at the Smart India Hackathon 2022's Grand Finale.

"Youth can develop fresh approaches to encourage the application of drone technology in the agricultural and medical fields. By the end of this decade, we hope to introduce 6G. The government supports Indian gaming and entertainment solutions. The youth should all benefit from the investments the government is making," Prime Minister Modi said.

The prime minister claimed that fresh problems and issues require fresh approaches every day. He instructed the inventors to address problems in agriculture. He urged the up-and-coming inventors to make the most of programs like the installation of optical fiber in every village, the rollout of 5G, and the development of the gaming ecosystem.

The government promises that the 5G technology that will soon be deployed in India will be both accessible and affordable. The rollout could happen as early as October of this year, Union Minister for IT Ashwini Vaishnav said during a press conference earlier in the day. "The industry has begun hiring for 5G infrastructure, and within two to three years, 5G services will be available nationwide. We have asked the market to make 5G prices reasonable. We have the lowest mobile service fees in the entire world. We will receive top-notch 5G services," he assured.

According to Vaishnaw, every step required for the very quick rollout of 5G is progressing nicely and methodically. "As you are all aware, the spectrum auction was completed successfully. We have all been working to streamline the right of way and installation processes, and the letters for harmonization frequency allocation have been issued on schedule."

In the meantime, Prime Minister Modi stressed at the Smart India Hackathon that in order to foster an innovation culture in India, "we have to pay constant attention to two things – Social support and institutional support." The Prime Minister emphasized that society has come to accept innovation as a profession, and in such a circumstance, we must accept fresh perspectives and original thinking.

The Prime Minister stated that "research and innovation must transform from the way of working to the way of living." The country has undergone several revolutions in the last seven to eight years, according to the prime minister, who also noted that the digital and talent revolutions are currently in progress.

"India is currently experiencing an infrastructure revolution. India is currently experiencing a revolution in the health sector. In India right now, the digital revolution and technological revolution are taking place. India is currently experiencing a talent revolution, Modi noted. Today, he said, the emphasis is on modernizing every industry.

The Prime Minister stated that the aspirational society, which was a theme of this Independence Day proclamation, will serve as a driving force over the next 25 years. "This society's aspirations, dreams, and challenges will present many opportunities for innovators," he declared.
