Today is the 55th day of protest against agricultural laws by farmers. The meeting between farmers and the government is postponed for a day, it will be held tomorrow.
Farmers’ leaders are constantly declaring that they are going to take out the tractor march. And today, the Supreme Court said it is up to Delhi police to decide if the tractor rally proposed on the Republic Day should be allowed to enter the capital or not.
Delhi Police will take decision
In the midst of the protest, a petition has also been filed against the farmers’ proposed Tractor Rally on 26 January in the Supreme Court. This petition was heard on Monday. The Supreme Court has refused to ban the tractor rally, and the court has left this decision on the Delhi police. The Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde said that it will be the decision of Delhi police that who will be allowed in the capital, we will not take a decision of it.
Supreme Court Committee’s first meeting today
During the hearing on farm laws issue, Supreme Court formed a committee, and today it will be the first meeting of the Supreme Court’s committee regarding farm laws. Bharatiya Kisan Union President Bhupinder Singh Mann has already refused to be the part of the committee. And, farmers’ organizations have also refused to go with the decision of committee.
Farmers and Centre’s Meeting Postponed till Tomorrow
Farmers’ and Centre’s next round of meeting regarding farm laws was pre-decided to be held today, but it is postponed till tomorrow. Agricultural Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the government is ready to negotiate with farmers’ organizations on all the concerned issues with an open mind.
