Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana hosted a 10-day workshop on advanced biomarker assessment techniques, sponsored by SERB-DST, aimed at enhancing skills in analytical biochemistry and molecular biology.

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, recently concluded a 10-day high-end workshop focused on "Advanced Techniques for Assessment of Biomarkers of Oxidative Stress in Clinical Samples of Animals." Sponsored by the Scientific Engineering Research Board (SERB) under the Department of Science & Technology (DST), the workshop aimed to enhance participants' skills in analytical biochemistry, molecular biology, cell culture, genomics, and proteomics.

The concluding function, presided over by Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor of GADVASU, commended the organizers for the successful execution of the event and extended best wishes to the participants for their future endeavours. Dr. Digvijay Singh, Head of the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry, presented a comprehensive report highlighting the workshop's objectives and outcomes.

During the workshop, which was hosted by the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry, 25 postgraduate and Ph.D. students from various parts of India participated. Among the attendees were 3 scholars from Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, 1 from Chennai, 3 from Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Mathura, 2 from Rajasthan University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (RAJUVAS), Bikaner, and 1 each from Visva Bharti University, West Bengal, Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar, and Sanskriti University, Mathura. Additionally, 7 students from the School of Pharmaceutical Science, CT University, Ludhiana, and 2 from Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, participated, along with 2 internal postgraduate students.

Dr. Digvijay Singh highlighted the hands-on training component of the workshop, which provided participants with practical experience in handling and troubleshooting advanced equipment and techniques relevant to their fields of study. The workshop's curriculum covered a wide range of topics essential for modern veterinary and animal sciences research, equipping participants with valuable skills and knowledge to address contemporary challenges in the field.

The inauguration ceremony, led by Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Director of Research, and Dr. S.K. Uppal, Dean of Post-Graduate Studies, marked the inauguration of the workshop, setting the tone for an enriching and collaborative learning experience.

Projects such as these provide a platform for interdisciplinary learning and skill development, which advances scientific knowledge and innovation in the field of veterinary and animal sciences.
