Overview

Krishi Jagran, India’s largest agri-media network with a reach of over 50 million farmers monthly, proudly presents Mission 2047: MIONP, Bharat Ka Jaivik Jagaran is needed to make Profitable Transition for Jaivik Bharat (PTJB) a reality. This ambitious initiative envisions a fully organic, natural, and profitable farming ecosystem in India by 2047, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and India’s aspiration to become a global powerhouse for sustainable agriculture through achieving $1 Trillion export target by 2047.

Profitable easy transition to Organic/ Natural Farming is claimed by many but have not been adopted by the mainstream. A scientific and commercial framework for majority of the crops have not been used to validate the claims and demonstrations by many. The key aim of this workshop is to deliberate and create this framework with the help of the farmers, the scientific communities, the NGOs and the input providers and create a grand challenge for the community to come up and demonstrate profitable transition and validate the technologies, the products, and the protocols for at least top 20 commercial crops.

What Leaders Said at MIONP

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra
India, as the world’s most populous country, is currently secure in food production. However, we must maintain this momentum to feed the growing population. While 72 million hectares globally are under organic farming, India only has about 2 million. A systematic, science-driven transition to organic farming is essential, but it requires gradual adoption by farmers. Unified recommendations for farmers are crucial to make this shift successful.
