The National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM), under the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, invites eligible candidates for a Walk-in-Interview to engage a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the Pesticide Management Division under the MPRNL Project on a purely temporary and contractual basis.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF) – MPRNL Project

Essential Qualification:

Option 1: Master’s degree in relevant subject with 4-year / 5-year Bachelor’s degree

Option 2: Postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3-year Bachelor’s degree and 2-year Master’s degree, NET qualification, and 2 years of research experience (as per ICAR/DST guidelines)

Specialization: M.Sc. in Environmental Science / Agriculture with specialization in Entomology or Pathology

Experience: Minimum 3 months in Pesticide Residue Analysis Chemistry, Organic/Analytical/Physical Chemistry, Agri. Chemicals, Agrochemical & Pest Management, Agricultural Chemistry, or related areas

Rs. 37,000/- per month (1st & 2nd year) Rs. 42,000/- per month (3rd year) + quarters as per NIPHM norms (No HRA)

Age Limitation and Other Information

Age Limit

Men: Maximum 35 years
Women: Maximum 40 years
(Age relaxation as per NIPHM norms)

Key Duties

Collection of market and farm-gate samples
Sample preparation and analysis using GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS
Routine maintenance of analytical instruments and documentation as per laboratory quality management systems
Assisting in project-related technical work as assigned

Selection Process: PowerPoint presentation (bring file in a pen drive) followed by interview

Important Instructions

The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project / one year, whichever is earlier.
Candidates without 3 months’ pesticide residue analysis experience may be placed on an ‘Understudy’ period for 2 months at 50% remuneration.
Candidates must bring original certificates (educational, experience, research, training, projects, testimonials) and self-attested copies along with a recent passport-size photograph.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
Selected candidates must reside in NIPHM quarters or within a 3 km radius.
Caution deposit equivalent to one month’s pay will be deducted in six instalments and refunded on successful completion of the contract.
