Essential Qualification:

Option A:

Master’s degree in Biological, Environmental, Earth-atmospheric, Mathematical, Computational and Information, or Agricultural Sciences from a recognized university/institute.

Ph.D. awarded in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Wildlife Sciences, or Forestry.

Option B:

Master’s Degree in Veterinary Sciences (M.V.Sc.) from a recognized university/institute.

Level 11 (₹67,700 - ₹2,08,700)












Age Limitation and Other Information

  • Minimum Age: 21 years.

  • Maximum Age: 35 years as of January 6, 2025.

  • Relaxation: As per Government of India norms for SC/ST/OBC-NCL and other eligible categories.

Selection Process

Written Test (70 marks):

  • Two essays (20 marks).

  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs): 80 questions with 50 marks.

  • 20 MCQs on Research Methodology and Quantitative Methods.

  • 60 MCQs distributed across Wildlife Ecology, Human Dimensions, and Veterinary Science & Wildlife Health (only 30 to be attempted).

  • Negative marking: 1/4th deduction for incorrect answers.

Merit List: Based on written test performance (minimum 50% marks required).

Interview (30 marks):

  • Includes a seminar presentation and evaluation of publications.

Format: Submit applications in the prescribed format

The Registrar, Wildlife Institute of India, Chandrabani, Dehradun - 248001, Uttarakhand.

  • Superscribe the envelope with “Application for the post of Scientist-C.”

Application Fee: Rs 1,000/- (non-refundable) via Demand Draft in favor of The Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.

  • Fee Exemption: SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates.

Deadline:

  • For general candidates: January 6, 2025, by 1700 hrs.

  • For applicants residing abroad or in remote areas: January 13, 2025, by 1700 hrs.

Important Dates

  • Written Test: February 16, 2025 (0900 hrs to 1400 hrs).

  • Interview Dates: To be announced on WII’s website after shortlisting.
