The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Division of Plant Pathology, New Delhi, invites applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Scientific Administrative Assistant/Field Worker under the DBT-funded project on “Application of machine learning for hyperspectral imaging and remote sensing aimed at early detection of fungal foliar disease and bacterial wilt disease in potato crop”. The positions are purely temporary and contractual.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Essential Qualification:

Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science (Microbiology / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Plant Biology / Life Sciences)
OR Professional course (Agriculture with specialization in Plant Pathology/Microbiology/Biotechnology OR Engineering/Technology in Biotechnology).
Candidates must be selected through one of the following processes:

CSIR-UGC NET, including lectureship (Assistant Professorship), or GATE.
National-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments/Agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.

Rs. 31,000/- + 24% HRA (1st & 2nd year), Rs. 35,000/- + 24% HRA (3rd year)

Scientific Administrative Assistant / Field Worker

Graduate in any discipline.

Rs. 18,000/- + 24% HRA (Rs. 22,320/- fixed)

Age Limitation and Other Information

Age Limit

JRF: Maximum 35 years (relaxation: +5 years for SC/ST/Women, +3 years for OBC).
Scientific Administrative Assistant/Field Worker: Maximum 50 years.

Positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Initial appointment for 1 year, extendable upon satisfactory performance until project completion.
