Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the DST-funded research project titled “Identification of novel genomic regions governing resistance against recently evolved devastating stripe rust pathotype 238S119 in unexplored durum wheat landraces from southern India.” The position is purely temporary and contractual, to be filled through an interview at the Division of Genetics, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi.

Post Graduate Degree in Basic Sciences OR
Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Courses (Genetics / Plant Breeding / Genetics and Plant Breeding / Agricultural Biotechnology)
AND must have qualified one of the following:

National Eligibility Test – CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship) or GATE
National-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and Agencies like DST, DBT, DAE, ICAR, ICMR, IISc, IIT, NISER, etc.

Rs. 37,000/- per month + 24% HRA (as per DST norms)

Age Limits and Additional Information

1. Age Limit:

Maximum age: 35 years as on date of interview
Relaxation:

5 years for SC/ST/Women
3 years for OBC
Minimum age: 18 years

2. Nature of Work:

Participation in wheat crop breeding trials
Handling field work, collection of plant samples
Execution of molecular experiments related to stripe rust resistance in wheat
