The ICAR-IARI Rice Breeding & Genetics Research Centre in Aduthurai, Tamil Nadu, is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the CSIR-ASPIRE project titled “Developing Peptide Barcodes of PUSA Basmati Varieties and Hybrids for Authentication and Traceability.” This role is temporary and will be offered on a contractual basis, focused on research tasks within the project.

1st & 2nd Year: ₹31,000 + HRA per month

3rd Year: ₹35,000 + HRA per month

Eligibility Criteria:
Essential Qualifications:
-
MSc in Biotechnology, Agricultural Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% marks.

Candidates must have cleared the NET/GATE examination.
Desirable Qualifications:
-
Experience in plant proteins, genomic and proteomic data analysis.

Familiarity with machine learning applications in the relevant field.
Job Responsibilities:
-
Conducting research work related to the project.

Managing consumables and contingencies required for the project.

Assisting the Principal Investigator (PI) in preparing research reports.

Handling other departmental tasks as directed by the PI.
Age Limit:

Maximum Age: 28 years (with age relaxation of up to five years for SC/ST, women, OBC, and physically handicapped candidates).

Minimum Age: 18 years as of the interview date.
