The Division of Seed Science and Technology at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, is pleased to announce a walk-in interview for the recruitment of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and one Project Assistant (PA). These positions are under a DBT-funded project titled “Unraveling the etiology, characterization, and seed transmission studies of new viruses associated with vein necrosis disease of soybean.” The appointments are purely on a contractual basis.
Position Details and Qualifications
1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Number of Posts: 01
-
Emoluments: Rs. 37,000 per month + 27% HRA for the first two years; Rs. 42,000 per month + 27% HRA for the third year.

Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Essential Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Pathology, or any relevant discipline of life sciences with a 4-year/5-year Bachelor's Degree.

Candidates with a post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with a 3-year Bachelor's degree and a 2-year Master's degree should have NET/GATE qualifications and 2 years of research experience.
Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in molecular techniques such as nucleic acid isolation, PCR, plasmid isolation, restriction, ligation, molecular cloning.

Proficiency in Bioinformatics (Transcriptomics and Proteomics).

Proven scientific writing skills, evidenced by publications.
2. Project Assistant (PA)

Emoluments: Rs. 20,000 per month + 27% HRA.

Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Essential Qualifications:

Graduate in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or any branch of life sciences with first class or OGPA > 7.5 from a recognized university/institution.
Desirable Qualifications:
-
3 years of working experience in basic molecular techniques and virus screening under field and glasshouse conditions.
