On September 25, 2025, Syngenta announced a series of cutting-edge AI-driven solutions at its flagship developer conference, DevCon 2025, held in Pune and simultaneously across global platforms. With over 200 developers, engineers, and technology leaders in attendance, the event highlighted Syngenta’s vision of harnessing artificial intelligence to shape the future of sustainable farming, bringing global innovations to address local agricultural challenges in India.

Syngenta’s AI initiatives focus on precision agriculture through satellite imagery analysis, predictive modeling for crop diseases and pest management, and intelligent irrigation systems to optimize water use. These innovations are being adapted to India’s diverse agricultural conditions.

In India, Syngenta is deploying AI-powered advisory platforms in regional languages to make scientific farming knowledge more accessible to smallholder farmers. Localized solutions for pest identification, crop health prediction, and climate-smart advisories are being developed to deliver personalized recommendations. Additionally, AI-enabled supply chain tools are reducing post-harvest losses and improving farmers’ market access, tackling one of the sector’s most pressing challenges.

“AI is most impactful when it empowers people and serves a higher purpose. At Syngenta, we are taking global innovations and adapting them to solve local challenges faced by Indian farmers, from climate resilience to post-harvest losses. Our teams are not just writing code; they are building solutions that help farmers feed the world more sustainably,” said Feroz Sheikh, Chief Information & Digital Officer, Syngenta.

The three-day conference, themed “From Algorithm to Impact: When AI Meets Human Purpose,” featured leading voices from the tech ecosystem, including Vikrant Labde (Turinton AI), Michel Pereira (Microsoft), and Bruno Vaughn (AWS). Discussions centered on the responsible adoption of AI and its potential to unlock transformational value in agriculture.

With PwC projecting AI to contribute USD 15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030 and MarketsandMarkets forecasting 24.1% CAGR growth in agricultural AI adoption, DevCon 2025 reaffirmed Syngenta’s commitment to advancing AgTech innovation, bridging international expertise with local insights to support sustainable agriculture in India, a country expected to be a key driver in AI adoption for farming.
