Giving this information, Research Director Dr. Prakash Singh Shekhawat said that this MoU will give impetus to agricultural research and extension activities.
Presiding over the program organized at Vidya Mandap of the University on this occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Arun Kumar said that with this MoU, farmers will not only get information about the right medicines for plant protection but also arrangements will be made to provide medicines through the agricultural input outlet built outside the university by Dhanuka Agritech Limited.
Chief Guest of the program, Dhanuka Group Chairman RC Agarwal said that agricultural knowledge, good seeds, increasing the production capacity of the soil, water conservation in farming, and plant protection are the basic needs of the farmer today.
The university and Dhanuka group will work together on this. He suggested developing model agricultural villages with the joint efforts of both institutions. He said that Dhanuka Group will provide scholarships, internships, and employment opportunities to agricultural students. Dr. Ajit Singh Tomar, President, R&D, Dhanuka Agritech Limited, the special guest of the program, in his address said that after this MoU, Dhanuka Group will take agricultural research and development activities to the farmers through the Krishi Vigyan Kendras of the university.
On this occasion, Kamal Kumar, Advisor of Dhanuka Group, and Dr. C. P. Sachan, Retired Professor, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur also expressed their views and described this MoU as beneficial for the farmers. Extending a vote of thanks on the occasion, Director of Extension Education Dr. Subhash Chandra said that the development of the village is linked to the progress of the agriculture sector. If the farmer prospers, the village will also develop. Directors of various institutes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Bikaner, and Directors of the National Research Centre on Seed Spices, Ajmer along with all the principals, directors, scientists, and farmers of the university participated in the occasion.
Training of Agricultural Input Distributors was also organized on the occasion in which 50 participants participated. In the training, information about citrus fruits, spice crops, and scientific cultivation of wheat, gram, and mustard was given to the scientists.
