The Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) has revealed the winners of the top processors and exporters awards for 2020-21.
According to a press release from SEA of India, the association will present awards to the highest processors of oil cake/oilseeds and exporters of various commodities at the association's annual general meeting in Goa on September 23 to encourage the processing of oilseeds and oil cakes as well as exports.
The country's solvent industry processes over 230 lakh tonnes (lt) of oilseeds, oil cakes, rice bran, and other oil-bearing materials, recovering around 36 lt of vegetable oil and exporting roughly 56 lt of de-oiled meals, vegetable oils and fats, castor oil, and oilseed, as per the release.
This contributes to annual foreign exchange earnings of about Rs 27,500 crore.
