The leading food and agritech company in India took home the SAP ACE Award 2022 in the category for "The Sustainability Champion" for successfully developing and implementing a "Environment" Dashboard on the SAP Analytics Platform and embracing digital transformation in their sustainability journey.
A ground-breaking platform combines unstructured data from various sources, including IoT devices, transactional data from SAP S4 Hana, and application databases, and transforms it into actionable business insights. With over 90% accuracy on a number of parameters, it offers a thorough perspective of key performance metrics. In order to assess past and present performance, discover anomalies, and report sustainability performance holistically, these comprise clean energy generation, energy efficiency, water efficiency & treatment, waste management, food travel miles, and a full-fledged GHG inventory.
It's an honour to earn this distinguished accolade from INDUS, which highlights our dedication to sustainability and presentation of solid governance systems, stated Mr. Srinidhi S. Rao, Head - ESG, WayCool Foods. Our entire business process is integrated with ES&G practises. Our advanced analytics-powered E&S dashboard has not only made it possible for us to see the effects of our environmental initiatives at the ground level, but it has also made it possible for decision-making that is supported by insights. As we continue to show how climate-smart efforts boost profitability, making them also business-smart, this is an important step in our net-zero journey.
WayCool has made significant progress since its founding in 2015 because to its admirable sustainability measures. Starting with 1.6 kWp solar roof-top panels at its model farm, the company now sources 6% of its total energy from solar power and treats and reuses 24.5% of its water. These changes to the operations not only prevented 83.1 tonnes of carbon emissions but also provided the company with a $ 17,035 annual savings.
In contrast to the IFC food loss forecast of 18%, WayCool has been able to limit food loss to 0.5% to 2% by utilising cutting-edge technological solutions in its supply chain. Similar to this, WayCool has eliminated 147.6 tonnes of logistical carbon emissions by electrifying 22% of its last-mile delivery fleet, which covers 612,300 km of green distance. The Company also pledged to switch to 100% EVs for last-mile delivery by 2030 as a member of the Climate Group EV100 Campaign. Additionally, the company influences the adoption of successful GAP and regenerative agriculture methods among approximately 200,000 Indian farmers through its "Outgrow" programme.
Results for the SAP ACE Awards were announced following a rigorous three-level review process and jury scoring on many criteria, including Use Case, Solution, Business Impact, Experience, Future Impact, and SAP Architecture.
