ReshaMandi, a digital ecosystem for the natural fibre supply chain, has made a significant investment in Bengaluru-based skincare brand Healios Wound Solutions. Healios has created a formula with silk protein – sericin and has a sophisticated product line under the brand name 'SeriSkin.'
According to ReshaMandi, the investment will allow Healios to expand its silk protein-based skincare range and market it to a wider audience looking for natural, sustainable, and environmentally friendly skincare products. However, no information about the investment was provided.
"We are trying to create a benchmark in the sericulture industry by delivering quality, fair pricing, and sustainability," said Mayank Tiwari, Founder & CEO of ReshaMandi. “We understand that silk is more than just luxurious garments, and we can use technology to create sustainable products from silkworm waste and mulberry farm waste. We will be able to accelerate our commitment to creating a zero-waste sericulture ecosystem with the help of Healios. Their expertise and diverse product portfolio make them an ideal partner for us."
Sericin is easily and effectively absorbed deep into the skin, resulting in optimal hydration levels as well as increased skin elasticity and resilience.
Sericin possesses distinct antioxidant, anti-aging, moisture retention, and depigmentation properties, making it an ideal ingredient in any skincare line.
The SeriSkin line will be positioned in the future as a silk protein-based premium product made of naturally extracted sericin.
Dr. Abhishek Vijaykumar, Founder of Healios Wound Solutions and an industry leader with experience in plastic surgery, wound management, general surgery, and medical science, commented on the partnership:
"Reshamandi is an ideal investor for Healios who understands the silk supply chain and would also offer better returns to the farmers who used to discard sericin during the manufacturing of fabrics. This investment from Reshamandi will allow us to expand our product line and reach a larger audience looking for natural, sustainable, and environmentally friendly skincare products."
