Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the centenary celebrations of Kirloskar Brothers Ltd. (KBL) organised in Delhi yesterday (6th January 2020). Modi released a postage stamp commemorating 100 years of KBL. He also unveiled the Hindi version of the biography of Late Shri Laxmanrao Kirloskar, the founder of KBL, titled as ‘Yantrik ki Yatra , the man who made machines.’
PM while congratulating the Kirloskar Brothers Limited said that this sense of taking risks, expanding into new areas, is still the identity of every entrepreneur in India. India’s entrepreneur is keen for the development of the nation and to expand his capabilities & successes.
Modi said, “Today, when we are entering into the new year, we are entering a new decade, I have no hesitation in saying that this decade will be for the Indian entrepreneurs". He also said that the true power of the people of the nation can make progress only when the government stands not as a hindrance to India, Indian & Industries - but as their partner.
The Prime Minister accentuated the economic goal of making India a five trillion dollar economy, but said that the country's dreams are bigger with a focus on developing an ideal business environment for India Inc with reform, integrity & performance.
He also highlighted some of the key reforms that have improved the ease of doing trade or business. It includes the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code that has given a dignified exit route for unsuccessful business ventures. Modi also underlined the transparency of the Tax System that is reducing human interface. He then emphasized on the significant drop in the Corporate Tax rates making them among the lowest in the world.
