On September 12, 2025, Mahindra Tractors, India’s No.1 tractor brand has entered into an agreement with the Government of Maharashtra to establish a Skill Development Centre in Gadchiroli. This agreement was signed in Mumbai, between Mahindra Tractors, Department of Vocational Education & Training (DVET) and Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) in the presence of Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

This Skill Development Centre is a collaborative effort between Mahindra Tractors, DVET, and MSSDS, aimed at promoting skill development among rural youth in Gadchiroli. It focuses on equipping them with industry-ready skills while also boosting local livelihoods. The initiative aligns well with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Devendra Fadnavis’ on skill development as a national priority to harness India’s unique demographic dividend.

Speaking on the occasion, Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said" Maharashtra is not just a leading industrial centre, but a state that is deeply connected to the Farm Sectors growth journey.  It is a matter of great pride for us to partner with the Government of Maharashtra towards building a stronger ecosystem for skill development of rural youth at Gadchiroli. Together, we aspire to create a future where the people of our rural communities are uplifted, strengthening rural prosperity.”

Through the Tractor Skill Development Centre in Gadchiroli, Mahindra will bring unmatched industry expertise in tractor and farm machinery, together with a commitment to excellence in skill development. The centre paves the way for multiple career opportunities across the ecosystem, including assembly roles at manufacturing plants and sales and service roles at dealership locations.

This is made possible through a structured curriculum, delivered by best-in-class trainers providing students access to the most modern technical equipment and hands-on experience in various aspects of tractor-related skills.
