Mahindra Tractor, a division of the company's Farm Equipment Sector, has dubbed its future-ready tractor range OJA. It will be spawned from the company's global tractor programme K2.

According to the company, the OJA is a brand-new light-weight global tractor platform that will target both domestic and international markets such as the United States, Japan, and South-East Asia.

It was created through close collaboration between Mitsubishi Mahindra Agriculture Machinery's engineering teams in Japan and Mahindra Research Valley in India, the R&D centre for Mahindra's Auto & Farm sector.

The Mahindra OJA tractor will be available in four sub-tractor platforms: sub compact, compact, small utility, and big utility, with 40 variants available at varying HP points.

"The OJA, which is set to be released later this year, is Mahindra's future-ready approach to tractorization, characterized by various first-in-class technology for enhanced performance and productivity, with the goal of transforming farming and enriching farmers' lives," said Hemant Sikka, President – Farm Equipment Sector, M&M.

The OJA tractors will be built at Mahindra's Zaheerabad tractor plant. The vertically integrated tractor facility also produces Mahindra's next-generation Yuvo and Jivo tractors, as well as the recently introduced Plus Series of tractors.

Mahindra is currently the only tractor manufacturer in Telangana, having invested over Rs 10.87 billion at Zaheerabad. The farm equipment sector employs about 1,500 people and has a two-shift capability of more than 100,000 tractors per year.
