Mahindra Farm Equipment Business has launched the Mahindra AIROTEC Turbo 600 Alpha, a high-performance, compact, and powerful sprayer designed for orchard crops. Manufactured in Nashik, Maharashtra, the award-winning sprayer has been developed by M.I.T.R.A (Mahindra Innovative Technologies & Research for Agriculture), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. This advanced solution is set to transform mechanized spraying in India’s growing horticulture sector.
Designed specifically for fruit crops such as grapes and pomegranates, Mahindra AIROTEC Turbo 600 Alpha is compact and built to perform in real-world orchard conditions. Its 600-liter tank, 75 LPM diaphragm pump, and high-performance 616 mm fan delivering air output up to 32 m/s ensure uniform coverage, addressing challenges related to uneven application often encountered with traditional methods. Compatible with both Mahindra and non-Mahindra tractors, the sprayer’s lightweight design also reduces tractor fuel consumption.
Combining engineering excellence with practical insights, the sprayer offers a valuable investment for farmers aiming to mechanize crop care operations.
Commenting on the launch, Dr. Anusha Kothandaraman, Vice President & Business Head of Farm Machinery & Precision Farming, Mahindra Farm Equipment Business, said, “With mechanization in crop protection growing rapidly in India, we are proud to launch the Mahindra AIROTEC Turbo 600 Alpha. Its compact design, precision features, and ease of movement ensure the protection of delicate fruit and flower crops, resulting in better quality yields. The sprayer is available across Mahindra MITRA dealerships in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Gujarat.”
Precision spraying is crucial for preventing disease, reducing chemical use, and improving crop quality and overall yield, while saving time and labor. Farmers using the AIROTEC Turbo 600 Alpha have reported significant savings in chemicals and labor, faster spraying cycles, and healthier crops.
The sprayer features a 2-speed + 1-neutral gearbox, enabling users to adjust fan speed based on weather and crop requirements. Its low-height profile allows safe movement under canopy and trellis systems, protecting delicate flowers and fruit in high-density orchards. The chemical-resistant compact tank ensures durability and long operational life, while the 3-axis toe bar allows easy maneuvering through narrow vineyard rows.
For enhanced efficiency, the sprayer is equipped with 12 two-way adjustable brass nozzles for precise application, a 5-mode controller for adjusting spray pressure, direction, and coverage, and a brass agitator to prevent chemical sedimentation. Safety features include a pressure relief valve to protect the pump and operator, along with tire mud scrapers for smooth operation in muddy or uneven conditions.
