Kaveri Seeds, a BSE-listed seed producer inaugurated its biotechnology research and development (R&D) Centre at Pamulaparthy in Siddhipet district, Telangana.
According to Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kaveri Seeds, G V Bhaskar Rao, the Centre for Applied Genomics & Seed Technology would facilitate 'smart breeding' to develop quality hybrids for all the crops.
Kaveri Seed's research & development activities are driven by dedicated researchers and scientists operating across its different R & D centres & breeding sites. It has a seed production program that involves 100,000 production cultivators on 65,000 acres of land spread in 12 agro-climatic zones to cater the needs of farmers. This laboratory would help the company further strengthen its leadership position & drive growth.
The firm has also registered a total income of Rs. 660 crore in the 1st quarter that ended on 30th June 2019, as against Rs.599 crore in the same quarter last year (2018).
