Despite the ongoing crisis of Coronavirus looming over the economy, the largest fertilizer cooperative of India IFFCO has observed a record-breaking growth in its business. The company has produced and sold the highest amount of fertilizer ever in the country, breaking its records.
With the start of the new financial year, the company’s MD has written a letter mentioning IFFCO’s achievements, challenges, and prospects that will be aimed in the next few years.
Elaborating about the great success achieved by the company, Dr. U S Awasthi, MD, IFFCO, stated in the letter, “In the Financial Year 2019-20 we were able to register a profit of more than 1000 Crore. We managed to achieve the highest ever production of 91.42 Lakh Metric.”
“We have donated a number of Rs. 25 Crores to the PM-CARES fund to help the Government of India in its fight against this pandemic. To further help the farmers and villagers we have launched on-the-ground efforts to donate necessary supplies. IFFCO is contributing at ground zero by distributing masks, hand sanitizer, disinfectant soaps, Vitamin-C tablets and essential food kits to the farmers and villagers at various places across the country,” added Awasthi.
Giving a vote of thanks to the Board of Directors including Chairman B.S. Nakai and Vice-Chairman Dileep Sanghanifor their continual support and guidance, Awasthi celebrated the success. The company is going to launch some new initiatives in the coming years like Nano fertilizer, Sikkim IFFCO Organics, and IFFCO Bazar.
