Shigeki Iwama has been appointed as the new President of Honda India Power Products Limited (HIPP), a prominent power product manufacturer and market leader in India for 36 years. The appointment is effective from April 1st, 2023, and Iwama will succeed Takahiro Ueda to lead the company in its next phase of growth.
Iwama has an extensive career spanning close to 20 years with Honda Motor Company, specializing in the power products business. He most recently served as President of Honda Motor Europe's Central Europe branch (Austria) from 2020 to 2023, where he led the entire Central Europe branch, overseeing Sales and Marketing operations in the Power products, Car, Motorcycle, and Spare parts business.
Iwama's previous roles include serving as Department Manager at Honda Motor Japan and General Manager of the Power Products Department at Honda South America. He oversaw various aspects of Honda Motor Company, including sales, product planning, strategic growth, and power product domains.
With his extensive background and commendable expertise in the power products industry, exceptional leadership skills, impressive track record of delivery, and in-depth know-how, Iwama is the perfect fit to lead HIPP as its President.
