The recently inaugurated R&D center in Palwal, Haryana is spread over 6.24 acres of land. It includes an organic synthesis lab, an analytical lab, a formulation lab, a lab for soil and water analysis, a lab for agricultural research, a lab for botanicals, a lab for biopesticides, a lab for bioassays, a facility for insect-rearing, and a training center.
Not only farmers but researchers, and other industry people can also use this facility.
Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries, Government of India, Krishan Pal Gurjar; Deepak Mangla, MLA Palwal; Vice Chancellor of Chaudhary Charan Singh, Haryana Agriculture University (HAU), Dr. (Prof) B R Kamboj and Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap Horticulture University, Prof. Samar Singh along with other dignitaries were also present at the inauguration event to bless the upcoming research center.
"Dhanuka Agritech Research & Technology Centre is dedicated to the welfare of farmers and it will encourage farmers to accept new technology, which is the need of the hour. It is encouraging to know that Dhanuka Group has chosen to adopt this village, which will undoubtedly be to the farmers' great advantage. In addition, farmers must switch from growing only wheat and rice to other crops. In order to diversify away from crops that use a lot of water, like paddy, the Haryana government is offering subsidies at the rate of Rs 7000 per hectare,” said Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal in a speech at the event.
The Chief Minister said there is an urgent need to save every drop of water in all of our activities, especially agriculture.
According to Krishan Pal Gurjar, Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries, Government of India, who was also present at the event, “the establishment of an R&D facility in the highly agricultural Palwal district by the Dhanuka Group is undoubtedly a remarkable move. The project is consistent with the overarching goals of both the Manohar Lal and Modi governments.”
Benefits of the facility
The facility is set up to conduct fundamental, applied, and adaptive research to address present and upcoming problems for the long-term sustainability of Indian agriculture.
By developing innovative extension strategies and establishing efficient procedures for transferring technologies to the farmers for improved and sustainable agricultural output, Dhanuka's R&D center will serve farmers in a variety of ways.
Additionally, the new R&D facility will make it possible for scientists working in the agriculture industry to conduct research. Farmers will also have access to the facility for soil testing, water analysis, and biopesticide testing among other things.
