Godrej Agrovet Signs MoU with MoFPI for Rs 960 Crore Investment in Food Processing Sector

Godrej Agrovet’s RS 960 crore investment will strengthen oil palm and pet food processing through new manufacturing units and an R&D center, generating jobs and supporting rural development.

Godrej Agrovet Limited, on September 26, 2025, signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India. The MoU, signed on the sidelines of World Food India 2025, marks a proposed investment of ₹960 crore to strengthen the company’s food processing capabilities through state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and an advanced R&D center.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Kataria, CEO & MD of Godrej Agrovet Limited, said, “The MoU is in line with our long-term strategy of strengthening agri-food processing and distribution capabilities. By investing in upstream infrastructure and R&D, our aim is to create sustainable value across the supply chain while contributing to the upliftment of the ecosystem. We are grateful for the support from MoFPI and remain committed to advancing India’s food processing capabilities and agricultural innovation.”

The MoU was signed in the presence of Avinash Joshi, IAS, Secretary, MoFPI, and Rakesh Swami, Group President – Corporate Affairs, Godrej Industries Group. Under this agreement, Godrej Agrovet will establish new manufacturing and processing facilities along with an upstream R&D center. The investment will primarily focus on the company’s oil palm and pet food businesses, with projects spread across Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Tripura, Telangana, and Maharashtra.

Commenting on the partnership, Avinash Joshi, IAS, Secretary, MoFPI, said, “We are delighted to partner with Godrej Agrovet. The facilities are expected to be completed by FY2026-27 and will also contribute to regional development through significant employment generation and skill enhancement initiatives.
