The Safety Awards 2022 are intended to identify and award firms in the manufacturing sector that have demonstrated outstanding Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) performance and a consistent commitment to reducing workplace injuries.
A panel of NSC safety professionals selects the winners after a rigorous assessment that includes a review of the previous three years of safety performance, a thorough audit, and an investigative procedure.
Ravi Annavarapu, President of FMC India, commented, "For FMC, safety is a core value. Our mission is to safeguard and empower our employees by fostering a dynamic safety culture that engages employees at all levels of the business. It is an honour to be recognized by the NSC for the efforts made by each employee at the Panoli factory to improve environmental, health, and safety standards. We are delighted to state that the Panoli manufacturing factory has been injury-free for more than 500 days in a row, and we will continue to improve our safety record and make every day a safe workday for our employees."
FMC was chosen as one of 18 firms from 600 that competed for recognition in the manufacturing sector across the country. The Panoli facility has won the silver award for the first time, after previously receiving certificates of praise at the Council's Safety Awards 2021 and 2019.
Manoj Khanna, Plant Manager of the Panoli production plant, accepted the award on FMC's behalf at the National Safety Council's 13th National Conference & Expo on Safety, Health, and Environment.
The NSC was established in 1966 by the Indian government's Ministry of Labor to promote Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), carrying out multiple activities and developing technical expertise and competences to address rising HSE concerns.
