Brigadier Amar Singh Rathore, Chairman and Managing Director of FCI Aravali Gypsum & Minerals India Limited (FAGMIL), a Central Government Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, recently presented a dividend cheque of Rs. 12.84 crore for the year 2023-24 to the Union Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers and Health & Family Welfare, Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Union Minister Nadda praised the achievements of FAGMIL, highlighting the company’s role in strengthening the economy and expressing optimism for its future growth. He encouraged FAGMIL to continue its progress and forecasted further dividend growth as the company expands. Brigadier Rathore highlighted the company's plans to diversify into mineral exploration, extending operations beyond gypsum to enhance its contribution to India’s mineral sector.

FAGMIL, operating under the Department of Fertilizers, has been pivotal in producing agricultural and mineral gypsum, which plays a crucial role in agricultural land reclamation. The company has provided gypsum to restore sodic lands across India, supporting agricultural productivity and sustainability for nearly six decades. Its gypsum supply has been essential for the production of ammonium sulfate, aiding the Sindri unit in Dhanbad and contributing to India’s goal of food self-sufficiency.

Following its demerger from FCIL in 2003, FAGMIL expanded independently, supplying gypsum to the cement industry and supporting land improvement initiatives across states such as Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. The company’s gypsum mining operations span multiple locations in Rajasthan, including Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Suratgarh, helping to reclaim thousands of hectares of land.
