R.G. Agarwal, Chairman, Dhanuka Agritech Limited & Dr. J.S. Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor, SKNAU Jobner signed an MOU on 24th March 2022 between Dhanuka Group & Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner, Jaipur, Rajasthan for working together for trials, verification of new technology & transferring the same to a large number of farmers.
This MOU includes joint working on drone technology & demonstrations of agri-drones for spray of fertilizers & agrochemicals. Also training of farmers, scientists and other agriculture stakeholders on new technology will be done.
Dhanuka Agritech Limited has earlier signed MOUs with G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology (GBPUAT), Pantnagar; CCS Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar; Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Telangana; University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Raichur; Maharana Pratap Horticultural University (MHU), Karnal & Lovely Professional University (LPU), Phagwara, Punjab.
R.G. Agarwal, Chairman, Dhanuka Agritech Limited delivered a presentation titled “Smart agriculture with Precision Plant Protection; Agri-business Entrepreneurship Development & How to increase farmer's income” as a special invitee, panelist & speaker on 24th March 2022 in the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of the Indian Phytopathological Society & its 8th International Conference 2022 (hybrid) on “Plant Pathology: Retrospect and Prospects” being held from 23rd to 26th March 2022 at SKN Agricultural University, Jobner, Jaipur.
R.G. Agarwal has over 50 years of rich experience in the agriculture sector working for the food, nutrition, health, wealth & environment security of our Nation & has been working for the betterment of the Policy framework which still needs a lot of realignment if India has to aspire for being a US$ 5 Trillion economy as per the vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister. He explained the large opportunities available to increase Indian GDP from the Agriculture sector.
Dhanuka Group has always believed in working in PPP mode with the Government & Agricultural Universities to benefit our annadatas, the farmers. Dhanuka Group looks forward to joining hands to improve the yield, quality & income of farmers through quality agri-inputs, especially crop protection chemicals and by private agri-extension.
After his presentation at the conference, R.G. Agarwal was presented with a memento by Dr. Pratibha Sharma, President, Indian Phytopathological Society; Division of Plant Pathology, IARI & Dr. P.K. Chakrabarty, Member (Plant Sciences), ASRB & Patron, Indian Phytopathological Society.
Congratulating the Society for their exemplary work in service of Indian Agriculture & the Nation on the occasion of the Society completing its 74th year & entering its 75th year of establishment; R.G. Agarwal during his presentation announced an annual award of Rs. 50,000 for 5 years for the best pathology scientist who will be decided by the jury to be appointed by the Indian Phytopathological Society. This award will be known as the Dhanuka Scientists Award & will be handed over in the annual function of the Society.
R.G. Agarwal also announced to provide gratis samples of any of Dhanuka’s new technology products which were recently introduced like Kirari for control of downy mildew, Nissodium for control of powdery mildew, Conika to prevent the bacterio-fungal complex formation in pomegranate, grapes amongst other multiple crops. He also said that apart from these products, other samples from Dhanuka’s range of more than 100 products can be sought by any scientist or student for their research purposes.
Dhanuka is also offering scholarships to poor students of agriculture universities as well as providing summer internships to a large number of students all over the Country. Dhanuka is eager to sign MOUs with other Universities also as our Country has more than 14 crore farmers who live in more than 6.5 lac villages & taking new technology to them is a herculean task.
Indian GDP from agriculture is 1/3rd in comparison to China’s GDP from agriculture despite India having much more arable land & rainfall. Key reasons are the non-availability of new technology & quality agri-inputs as well as lower use of chemical fertilizers & pesticides in India in comparison to China & other developed countries besides the widespread presence & use of spurious bio-products laced with chemical pesticides in India.
At Chinese earnings levels, Indian GDP from agriculture can be increased tremendously. We can imagine how much turnaround will be brought about in the rural economy, farmers' income and as a result in the entire Indian economy. This is only possible by providing new technology which is possible only in PPP mode & Government should come forward to support the private sector as Government has realized that doing business is not the job of the Government & that is the reason they are divesting their stake in major public sector companies.
