Almas caviar
Priced at around 25 lakhs per kg the world’s most expensive Almas caviar comes from the eggs of a female albino beluga sturgeon between 60 to 100 years old. Its rarity stems from the fact that the specific species of fish that gives this caviar lays eggs every 10 -15 years.
Saffron
Also known as Saffron is the most expensive spice in the world, with one pound (450 grammes) costing between $500 (37,242.25) and $5,000 (37,242.25) USD. Its high price is due to its labour-intensive harvesting process, which makes production expensive. Saffron is picked by hand from the bloom of the Crocus sativus, sometimes known as the "saffron crocus." The name "saffron" refers to the thread-like structures, or stigma, of the flower.
Ayam Cemani Chicken
The Ayam Cemani is an Indonesian unusual breed of chicken. They contain a dominant gene that causes hyperpigmentation (fibromelanosis), which causes the chicken's feathers, beak, and internal organs to be largely black. This extremely rare breed of poultry costs a pretty sum of $5000 (Rs 3.7 lakh) per pair.
White Truffles
It's the most expensive and sought-after species of truffle, costing over $2100 (around Rs 1.5 lakh) per kilogramme. It's also known as Italian white truffle or Piedmont white truffle. Truffles, which are native to northern Italy, require particularly precise growing conditions. White Truffles (Tuber Magnatum Pico) are also known as White Alba Truffles and they come from the northern region of Italy, typically Piedmont. They are also known as the diamonds of the culinary world.
Matsutake mushrooms
This is one of Japan's most costly mushrooms, growing in the Tamba area. It is connected with the start of fall and is a delicacy in Japanese cuisine. It is very difficult to locate and delicate, costing between $1,000 and $2,000 (Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh) per pound (1 pound = 1.36 kg).
