We all want beautiful skin…isn’t it. But cold, dry air with the decrease in the temperature can leave your skin feel drier, itchier and flakier. Hence at this stage it becomes necessary to take good care of your skin to combat dry winter skin. Today in this article we will give you some easy tips for retaining your skin's natural moisture, not only from outside but also from inside.

Here are few tips to retain your skin's natural moisture

Drink a lot of water  

Water plays a significant role in keeping your skin hydrated from inside as it helps in releasing toxins. Even eating water-based fruits and vegetables such as cucumber, spinach, tomatoes, oranges etc. will keep you hydrated and moisturized.  

Consume Vitamin-A enriched foods  

To keep your skin healthy and firm, eat Vitamin-A enriched foods such as carrots, sweet potatoes, broccoli, tuna fish etc. it will help in enhancing the skin elasticity and glow.  

Vitamin-D plays a vital role 

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, and if your body lacks it, then it will feel drier, itchier and flakier. So, have diet that contains Vitamin-D in it, or you can take supplements to maintain the balance of Vitamin-D in your body. Food enriches in Vitamin-D are egg, curd, walnut, salmon, sardines, herring and mackerel oily fishes etc.   

Increase protein intake in your body  

Lack of protein and fats can cause dry skin too so, drink protein drinks which will boost collagen in your body leading towards a better skin quality. You can also eat garlic, citrus fruits like oranges, guavas etc.  

Must add Omega-3 based food materials  

Eat a variety of fish which have Omega-3 (salmon, mackerel, tuna, herring, and sardines) in it to hydrate your skin within. If you don't like fish, you can always go for the fish supplements which are available in the market but keep in mind to not intake more of it as it has toxins in it. You can also go for the alternative Omega-3, flaxseeds. Flax seeds or linseeds are very high in fibre and provide good amounts of protein. They’re also rich in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids.
