1. Chinese Money Plant 

It has round coin-like leaves and straight stems. They look gorgeous in short pots.  

They grow easily and quickly with a once-a-week watering (depending on the temperature in your home). They don’t require a direct sunlight. 

2. Weeping Fig 

The plant features many leaves. Bright but indirect light is best for this plant. 

Therefore, living room is the best where you can place this plant. You must water it after every few days to keep the soil moist.  

3. Cacti 

They are easy to maintain and have to be watered once a week during the spring and summer and every three weeks during winter.  

Cacti plants thrive in natural light. Therefore, buy a variety of small ones and plant them together in a colorful terrarium to create a simple centerpiece. 

4. Calatheas 

They require indirect sunlight and evenly moist soil that's not wet or dry. It has beautiful colourful leaves which you can show off in a light coloured pot. 

5. Areca Palm 

This leafy plant can be grown anywhere in the house in indirect sunlight. If you expose it to direct sunlight, the leafs will turn yellow.  

The plant can grow as high as 30 feet outdoors but it is restricted to about seven feet at indoor locations. Water enough to keep the soil moist. 

 You can put it in a small container and the crowded roots will help in limiting the size of    the plant.  

It is an effective humidifier. The plant is useful in filtering xylene and toluene from the air.  

6. English Ivy 

Bright light is essential for this plant to look fresh. Otherwise it might attract pests. Take special care while watering and let the soil dry for some time before watering it again. Ivy does not like standing water. 

This green plant helps in reducing airborne fecal-matter particles. It also filters out formaldehyde found in some household cleaning products.  

7. Aloe  

Aloe plant has distinctive elongated leaves that fan out in a vase shape from a central base. They are 3 feet high and 3 feet wide. 
They require Bright light ranging between 65 - 75°F and moderately dry soil 

 You can try smaller varieties such as aloe vera on a sunny kitchen window. It is better to keep the spiky leaves away from high-traffic areas. 

8. Flamingo Flower 

They are 2 - 3 feet high and 2 feet wide. They require medium to bright light with no direct sun mostly 65 - 80°F and evenly moist soil, barely moist in winter. 

Their pretty, heart-shaped leaves contain toxic sap, so make sure pets and children do not ingest them. 

They are mostly red and are in shades of pink, lavender, white and even green.  

9. Croton 

They are low maintenance and bold houseplant. Their colour vary from mix of yellow, amber, and orange color linear markings on thick dark green foliage. 

 For growing they need a bright indirect light most of the time and water sporadically. 

10. Calathea 

They can easily be grown in mind low light conditions. You can keep them in warm, normal room temperature. It likes humid surroundings and moderate watering. Therefore protect them from cold winds. 

They are available in many varieties and different colours.
