Diabetics Alert! Avoid Eating These Eight Fruits

Fruits are one of the main sources of multiple nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and other dietary fibers. There daily consumption can provide us a variety of health promoting antioxidants, including flavonoids. A proper fruit diet can reduce the risk of many diseases including heart disease, diabetes, inflammation and cancer.  

Fruit contains natural sugar, but this is nothing we need to worry about. Presence of sugar is not detrimental to our body, but it still counts our daily calorie intake. Anyone who needs to control blood sugar should know which fruits are high in sugar and whether or not to consume them. 

In this article we have listed those fruits that diabetics or weight conscious people should consume in moderation because they are high in sugar. 

Mango: 

Mango is like any other fruit that is rich in nutrients, fiber, antioxidants and minerals that do not lead to weight gain if they are taken in the correct way. But if you are very determinant to consume those fruits that are low in calories then avoid the consumption of mango because mangoes have 45 grams of sugar (per medium-sized fruit). 

Grapes: 

Grapes are mainly found in many colors. When it comes to nutritional profiles, they all rank very high on health charts, and are quite similar. One glass of grapes contains about 23 grams of sugar. You can slice them in half to consume them slowly, this consumes less sugar.  

Cherries: 

Cherries also have dozens of health benefits in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds. If you say you are eating whole fruit, you are eating 46 grams of sugar, which is more sugary than donuts. That’s why it would be good if you consume it in a moderate quantity. 

Watermelon: 

As the name suggests, watermelon contains water. It has special minerals called electrolytes that the body needs to recharge itself. Watermelon can be safely eaten by people with diabetes patient but it should be in small amount. It is recommended to eat watermelon along with foods rich in healthy fats, fiber, and protein. 

Bananas: 

Banana is one of those fruits that are well known as super food for energy. One medium sized banana contains 14g of sugar. Bananas are a safe and nutritious fruit that can be consumed in right amount by diabetics and those who want to loss their weight.  

Avocado: 

One avocado contains just 1.33g of sugar. We can put it in a salad, apply it to toast, or can use it as a smoothie. However, avocado is low in sugar but high in calories. Avocado is one of those fruits that do not contain sugar.
