80% subsidy on agricultural machinery: Using modern agricultural machinery is one of the most important things for agriculture. In modern agricultural machinery, less labour is required and there is an increase in the crop yield. The use of modern agricultural devices not only gives impetus to agricultural growth. But, the economic condition of farmers also gets strong.
But, some farmers are unable to buy expensive agricultural equipment due to poor economic conditions. In view of this, subsidy on agricultural implements is given from time to time by the Central and State Government. In this series, the state government is now providing subsidy to small and marginal farmers to buy modern agricultural equipment.
Subsidy to buy modern agricultural machinery:
As per the media reports, Dr. Surjit Singh Walia, Chief Agricultural Officer of Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, said that the Punjab government is providing subsidized agricultural machines handling the straw to the farmers for the purpose of not burning the straw.
He added that 80% subsidy will be given by the government to cooperative societies, registered farmer groups, gram panchayats, registered farmers' societies, farmer producer institutions and 50% to private farmers.
Subsidy is given on these agricultural machineries:
The machines that will help the starch to mix in the farm produce such as Super SMS, Happy Seeder, Paddy Straw Chopper, Sharder, Malchar, Hydraulic Reversible MB Plow, Zero Till Drill, Super Seeder and Straw-ejecting machines from fields like balers, rakes, crop reapers, etc. are included.
