Namo Shetkari Mahasamman Nidhi Scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October 2023, under which Shetkari families of Maharashtra get an additional Rs 6000 in three equal installments, which means local small farmers get Rs 12,000 of Samman Nidhi. A Government Resolution (No. Kisani-2023/CR 42/11 A), dated June 15, 2023, was issued to formalize the scheme. On October 05, 2024, Prime Minister announced an additional Rs 2,000 crore benefit to the farmers of Maharashtra under the 5th installment of the Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana.
