In 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared 15 July as World Youth Skills Day, to celebrate the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship.
In continuation of this tradition, I am pleased to inform you that FICCI Maharashtra is celebrating World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) 2022, by organizing a webinar on the eve of WYSD 2022. The theme of the webinar is "Transforming Youth Skills for the Future - Role of Government & Private Sector" and will take place as per the following schedule:
WYSD 2022 takes place amid concerted efforts toward socio-economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic that are interconnected with multiple challenges. The Pandemic has accelerated several transitions the world of work was already undergoing, which add layers of uncertainty regarding the skills and competencies that will be in demand after the pandemic is fully overcome.
The webinar will deliberate on some of these challenges and the Role of the Government & Private Sector in Transforming Youth Skills for the Future. The webinar will provide a unique opportunity for dialogue between young people, technical & vocational education and training institutions, private sector and policymakers.
Some of the discussion areas will include Re-Skilling and Up-Skilling, Strengthening Vocational training system, Developing Skilling infrastructure, especially in Public-Private partnerships, using CSR funds for Skilling etc.
