The Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, is leveraging the food processing sector's potential to position India as a global food hub through targeted investments across various subsegments. This encompasses initiatives in backward linkages, processing equipment, R&D, cold chain storage, start-ups, logistics, and retail chains, covering the entire food processing value chain.
In an effort to showcase India's rich food culture and attract investments in its diverse food processing sector, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries launched the inaugural World Food India in 2017. Building on this success and in alignment with the International Year of Millets in 2023, the ministry hosted the second edition of World Food India in 2023. World Food India 2024 is scheduled to take place from September 19th to 22nd, 2024, continuing to unite the global food processing industry.
